About My Work

Photography is a constant evolution for me. Everything I shoot, I shoot in the name of progression. With that, I strive to guarantee on every shoot, that your's now, will be better than the one I did before it. I achieve this by remaining always focused and serious about my photography work and keeping up to date with industry standards, new technology and having helpful peers.

Photography is a perfect medium for me at this stage of my art-filled life. It is one of the few mediums where art can be pursued through the manipulation of science and mathematics governing light and physics. Which have always been another interest of mine since a young age.

If someone asked me to describe my work in a few words, or what I strive for in my work it would go like this; color, contrast, theme and I get it right the first time. Theme firstly because it is the main tool for telling each photo's story. Sure, nice pictures are well, nice - but in photos I take for my own professional development, I seek an idea that jumps off the page, leaving no question in the viewer's mind to what message I am trying to convey. My favorite tools for polishing images and giving them a style true to my own, is the use of color and contrast. In landscapes especially, color is imperative to conveying the mood of the scene. In making any particular image appear true to life, contrast works most to my cause. Check out my blog post about HDR photography to see how contrast can add to your images.

Getting it right the first time speaks with regards to the way or method of taking photos and my ideals in post processing work. I always aim to do everything I can with my camera, before I decide to try and do something with my computer. Even a simple photoshop task like skin softening can be made easier with the appropriate steps while taking the photos. I like making composite images, but don't like feeling like my images need heavy processing to reach their full display potential. Shooting with this in mind helps me by minimizing processing time, and maximizing the amount of usable images I get from any given photo shoot. Foresight and vision of the final product are essential.

I frequently write about photography related issues on my mind, and if you would like to understand my mindset a little deeper, I recommend you check out my blog.
